DirectBlue is a Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield individual preferred-provider program and is available throughout Western Pennsylvania.

In this plan, each covered family member has direct access to any provider - including specialists - in or out of the DirectBlue network. Care that is received from a network provider is paid at the highest level. Care that is received from an out-of-network provider will be paid at a lower level after satisfying a deductible. No referrals are required for medical services. Although, you are not required to select a Primary Care Physician (PCP), we do recommend that you choose a personal physician. This helps you establish an ongoing relationship based on knowledge and trust and keeps your care consistent.
